Travel Tips for Destination Cuba
There are direct flights from major cities in Canada and Europe, and travelers need valid Canadian or European passports and proof of health insurance. US citizens require government permission to visit Cuba. Change cash or travelers cheques (but not those sold by American Express) into Cuban pesos at Cadeca exchange houses at Cuban airports as well as banks and major hotels.
Avoid travelling during the hurricane season of June to the end of November. Tour companies offer good bus service between airports and resorts and for organized day trips, and radio taxis are fine, but avoid unlicensed private taxis.
