The Coastline Along Cannon Beach, OR Has to Be One of the Most Romantic Places in the Pacific Northwest
By Greg Mattson, ERV Editor - Updated: Aug 31, 2012
Fresh air, inspiring cities, awesome mountains, islands to explore, and a captivating coastline. That's the Pacific Northwest, a great place for romantic vacations and honeymoons, both at sea level and higher.
Best time to visit the Pacific Northwest: April to October. But that's no guarantee of dry weather, because it can rain almost anytime in Western Washington State and Oregon. So outside of June to Aug, we suggest you pack an umbrella (if you didn't, don't worry because many romantic inns & B&B's keep one in the room for you!)
Before you give up on winter, November to March has some unique opportunities, like romantic winter storm watching from an oceanfront cabin! And cheaper rates at many inns and hotels too.
1. Oregon Coast - simply breathtaking. Some of the most romantic seaside inns are here, tucked into oceanfront spots in Cannon Beach, Seaside and Astoria, OR.
2. Puget Sound - places like Bainbridge Island, Port Townsend, Deception Pass and La Conner make this, the most NW part of the Pacific NW a great place for weekend full of seagulls, sea breezes and excellent clam chowder.
3. Seattle - after seeing the fish fly at Pike Place Market, find a romantic brew pub in historic Pioneer Square, or take in one of the best city views from the Queen Anne Neighborhood.
