Romantic Chicago Restaurants
A Review of Romantic Chicago Restaurants and Eateries
Chicago is a great place for a romantic getaway . It's also famous as a restaurant town, and a terrific place for romantic dining!
The city is well known for its steaks and ribs, with establishments like Magnum’s and Morton’s specializing in Grade A prime beef. Pizza is also a local favorite, and the city has a huge selection of Italian and Greek restaurants too.
And because Chicagoans love to dine out, reservations are recommended in most cases.
It’s not easy narrowing down the choices for romantic Chicago restaurants, but we’ve come up with a handful that we think will not disappoint. Enjoy…
Everest
40 floors up at the One Financial Place Skyscraper. It’s been called the
best restaurant in Chicago by more then one reviewer! Rich French cuisine, a comprehensive wine list, and work-of-art desert offerings. The service and the ambience are all first rate. Price–wise this is not for budget-minded romantic diners, but more of a special occasion experience. 440 S. La Salle St., 40th Floor Chicago, IL 312-663-8920
Gejas
This Chicago restaurant is a real find, and one you won’t forget. Get set for some fine wine and delicious fondue dining! You actually cook your dinner (various meats, breads) in the fondue pot right at the table. Add to that some chocolate dipped fruit for desert, candles and Flamenco guitar softly strumming nearby, and you have one of the most romantic Chicago restaurants. 340 West Armitage, Chicago, IL 773-281-9101
Red Rooster Wine Bar & Cafe
Perfect for a romantic and reasonably priced dinner out. Cozy setting with tasty French fare including duck a l'orange and one of my all time faves, creme brulee.
Many entrees priced in the $12-15 range. 2100 N Halsted St Chicago, IL Phone: (773) 929-7660
Signature Room at the 95th You won’t find a restaurant much higher than this in Chicago, or anywhere for that matter! This contemporary American dining room is on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center, the standout high-rise of the Chicago skyline. Steak, lobster and lamb are featured, if you can keep your eyes on the plate and not out the window!
The Signature can get busy, but there’s an adjacent lounge with the same view where you can sip a cocktail while waiting for a open table. Open for Brunch on Sunday too. 875 N Michigan Ave, John Hancock Center, Chicago, IL 312-787-9596
Wild Fire Restaurant
Step back to Chicago dining from the mid 1940’s! This steakhouse with open hearth grills has people raving about the food, ambience and service. The Blue Cheese Crusted Filet comes highly recommended, and the prices are surprisingly inexpensive.
Ask for a booth seat; it adds to the experience and romance! 159 West Erie 312-787-9000
