Romantic Restaurants in Boston

A Review of Romantic Restaurants in Boston and Great Places to Eat in Boston for Couples

Custom Search

New England is a great place for romantic getaways - romantic inns and bed and breakfasts, foliage tours and scenic tours throughout Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. And since many of these romantic vacations begin and end in Boston, a look at romantic restaurants in Boston seems highly appropriate!

You won’t have to search too far for some great seafood in Boston. But there are some great ethnic eateries too, and “nouveau” chefs that are giving traditional dishes some new found spice and flair. And don’t forget about the traditional Boston High Tea!

Top of the Hub

52 floors up the Prudential Tower is where you’ll find this fine romantic Boston restaurant. Live jazz adds to the atmosphere, and the fabulous view is complimented by excellent offerings such as Atlantic salmon or maple smoked duck cob salad The nearby Frog Pond on Boston Common is a great romantic spot in Boston – go skating on the ice under the lights! 800 Boylston St, Boston (617) 536-1775

Metropolis Café

If you’re looking for a romantic restaurant in Boston that’s reasonably priced, the Metropolis Café is a fine choice. This cozy little eatery on Tremont St is intimate and cute. Try the weekend brunch. Only a few tables so you might want to call ahead. 584 Tremont St. South End, Boston (617) 247-2931

Boston High Tea

Looking for your own private Boston Tea party of warm scones, Devonshire cream and berries, and of course, the classic cucumber sandwich? The Boston High Tea at the Bristol has been called the best in town (everyday between 3 and 4:30 PM. 200 Boylston St. 617-351-2037). There are several others too, including the Ritz Carlton Hotel (Arlington Street location, Wed thru Sun 2:30 till 4:30) and the Boston Harbor Hotel (70 Rowes Wharf)

L'Espalier

Here’s another fine choice for the right Boston restaurant to propose in! Certainly one of the best restaurants in Boston. A jacket and tie for men is recommended. Fireplace and a quiet atmosphere set the mood. Talk about romantic ambience – one dining room is called “The Seduction”, another “The Courtship Room”! 30 Gloucester Street, Boston (617) 262-3023
