Romantic Sacramento Hotel Getaway

After our February wedding in Sacramento, we spent 3 fantastic nights at the Sheraton Sacramento Grand. We couldn't travel for a honeymoon beacause of my husband's business, but the Sheraton made up for it - it felt like an upscale romantic resort in a big city (they even gave us a bottle of wine and put rose petals on the bed and floor!)

Really loved the restaurant downstairs too. The hotel is actually an old restored market, and it's close to the shops and dining on J Street. I think you should see this place, for Sacramento it's quite nice and a romantic place to stay.

Haven't stayed at the Sheraton, but just wanted to add that Sacramento is a favorite holiday spot of mine. The Riverfront, Old Town and the Railway Museum are places that are especially good. As I am from the Pacific Northwest originally, I find the summers in North/Central California quite agreeable.

I suppose I could try the Sheraton, but my wife and I are not much for big hotels when we vacation. A quiet B&B is much more to our liking, so maybe you could look into that or have a readers comment for something similar.

Thanks for that review, Lisa. Stay-at-home honeymoons can be equally romantic too! Greg & I have stayed in a number of Sheraton hotels, and we also enjoy them. Sacramento is a California destination we haven't seen yet, but would like to.
