Romantic Texas Hill Country Bed & Breakfast - Gruene Mansion Inn

You park your car on Friday and never have to drive again until you leave on Sunday. The rooms and cottages at The Gruene Mansion Inn are all done in antiques with many having a river view.

This romantic Texas bed and breakfast inn is right next to the infamous Gruene Hall, so you can walk next door for some live entertainment and boot-scootin'. There are many famous and local entertainers that perform there as scheduled but many famous ones have been known to just show up and give a show...Clint Black, George Staright, Willy Nelson, Pat Green...the list goes on.

Or you can walk over one more building and you are at The Grist Mill Restaurant with it's wonderful food, river views and fantastic atmosphere. There are a few other great restaurants and grills in town, all within a few blocks of the Inn. There are a handful of unique shops, a winery and a place to rent inner-tubes if you wish to go "tubin."

The Inn has the most wonderful breakfast each morning for their guests and the rooms are very relaxing. The rooms along the river and a few of the others have porches with big rocking chairs to relax away all your problems and leave the real world behind.

In the courtyard of The Inn is a small deli that sells great sandwiches and a few other things with ice cold beer and other adult beverages. Their only seating is outside under a pergola. In the evenings they have locals singing and playing their instruments and you might catch a few people dancing along to the tunes.

There is something so peaceful about sitting out in the grass, in a rocking chair, under the trees and pergola lit with christmas lights, listening to a man sing his heart out while he plays his guitar! :-)

Can you tell this is one of my favorite places to visit? I have been going to Gruene since about 1987, pretty much every year. It is mine and my husband's annual "check-out" weekend where we turn off our cell phones and just sleep, eat, relax and enjoy life at it's simplest. I can not thank the owners of The Inn and the people of Gruene enough for all the memories they have given me from this wonderful town. Thank you.

PS - I am not from the Gruene area...live in Houston, Texas area...so this is not an advertisement...just a very high recommendation for a romantic Texas Hill Country Bed and Breakfast.
