We’ve put together several ideas for romantic Venice honeymoon hotels and B&B’s. Each one would suit different budgets, tastes and holiday itineraries. Have a great stay in this most romantic European city...

Like much of Europe, romantic accommodation in Venice can be pricey. So here's a couple of suggestion for smaller inns that are clean, comfortable, romantic, and provide good value for the money:

AD Place Hotel Room, Venice Italy AD Place Hotel - you'll love this adorable boutique hotel for it's romantic canopy beds, amenities that include free Wi-fi and in-room espresso maker, and a very nice breakfast in the morning. It's also fairly easy to find for a Venice hotel (can't say that about all of them!).

Rates & Booking: We found internet rates in April 2012 starting at 180 Euros/night, prepaid & non-refundable. For more romance, splurge a bit and book a Canal view double room on one of the higher floors.

Best Western Bologna Hotel, Mestre

Since our latest romantic trip to Venice was just part of a bigger European car holiday, we decided to try something different and stay in Mestre, just 8 km (5 miles) from the Grand Canal.

We chose the Best Western Bologna Hotel - Mestre Station . This isn't your typical chain motel at all - it’s a newly renovated, almost “Euro-boutique” hotel located not far off the motorway to Venice. And it’s a short 15 minute walk to shopping and restaurants in Mestre, Italy.

Reasons we loved this hotel:

spotless, quiet rooms with a/c, wifi internet and LCD TV.
a delicious buffet breakfast each morning with fresh, strong Italian coffee!
the hotel has a car park on-site (super-convenient), and getting to Venice was very easy since the train station was right across the street (10 minute train ride into Venice).

If the idea of hauling your luggage on and off boats and down crowded narrow corridors makes you feel tired already, a relaxing stay at this Best Western near Venice could be for you too.

Romantic Venice Bed and Breakfast

Couples in search of a bed and breakfast on the canal in Venice should check out the Locanda Orseolo.

This romantic Venice bed and breakfast is located just behind Piazza San Marco in the heart of the city. Rooms enjoy a view of the Orseolo canal, air con, satellite TV and bar.

Overall, a nice choice in Venice for a small romantic B&B.
