We often are asked about the best place to stay in Vancouver, hotels closest to Stanley Park and the Cruise Ship terminals, Vancouver Boutique hotels, and the best deal on 5-star Vancouver hotels and accommodation.

Prices for Vancouver BC hotels are generally quite good. There are lots of mid-priced hotels in Vancouver available downtown, and they’re close to lots of attractions. A splurge for 1 or 2 nights can put you in a very romantic suite with an incredible view of the mountains and sea!

5 Star Hotels in Downtown Vancouver

The list is actually longer than this, but these are some of the luxury Vancouver hotels that we've seen and really like. (Please note: while some of these properties are not officially 5-star, they offer what many couples would consider comparable levels of service and amenities).

Room at the Wedgewood Hotel, Vancouver Wedgewood Hotel & Spa - One of the most romantic luxury hotels in Vancouver. Deluxe bedding, chocolates and wine greet you in the elegant rooms. Reviews of the Wedgewood Hotel rave about the full service spa, room service, and the Bacchus lounge (we loved it too!)

Four Seasons Vancouver - Elegant rooms in a classic high-rise, wedding & honeymoon packages available too. While not a new property, reviews for the Four Seasons are generally positive, with good marks for it's spacious rooms and friendly staff.

Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle - City, harbor & mountain views, massage, lap pool and health club. Reviews of the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle comment very favorably of the hotel's excellent location, excellent staff and great views.

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel - As seen on all the postcards, 5 star luxury, ocean & mountain views. Reviews for the Pan Pacific Vancouver all like the scenic location, but some note the hotel's atmosphere is a bit like a convention center (which is what is under the sails at adjoining Canada Place!)

The Georgian Court - Steam room & fitness center, wireless intenet, and luxury rooms with Aveda amenities. Other extras include bathrobes, slippers and digital in-room safes. Visitors loved the large clean rooms, and the hotel is close to Vancouver Canucks hockey games and trendy Yaletown with it's shops and fine dining.

Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver - Tranquility, fine dining and free morning limo service to downtown Vancouver! Hotel reviews for the Metropolitan rated it very good for central location and clean, spacious marble accented rooms.

Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver - This Vancouver luxury boutique hotel has a pool, outdoor sun deck, spa, and gourmet dining. It got's a great downtown location just a short walk away to all the shopping and dining spots on Robson St.

Tips on The Best Place to Stay in Vancouver

Here’s some advice when deciding on Vancouver BC accommodation:

Hotels in downtown Vancouver are the best choice for easy access to shopping, restaurants, Stanley Park, and Vancouver tourist attractions such as Gastown, Granville Island, and North Vancouver attractions like Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain.
Hotels in Burnaby and New Westminster are far from downtown Vancouver. They are cheaper, but you’re further away from all the attractions in Vancouver.
In Vancouver, Granville Street between the 1000 and 1300 blocks can be a rather undesirable area, especially at night.
Richmond, BC hotels are closer to the airport, if that’s important to you.
Distance from the airport to downtown Vancouver hotels: About 14 km’s (8 miles). Trip takes ½ hour by taxi or shuttle bus.

Vancouver Hotels Closest to the Cruise Ship Terminals:

The Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver is right at the Vancouver cruise ship terminal. It’s located at Canada Place, which also includes an IMAX theater, convention center, shops, etc. And just across the street is the Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver.

Vancouver Hotels Closest to Stanley Park:

The Lord Stanley Suites are on Georgia St, across from the Park.
The Westin Bayshore Resort nearby is also right on the doorstep to Stanley Park.

Vancouver Hotels Closest to Shopping: The following properties are in the best location for shopping along Robson Street – Vancouver’s main street for retail stores and shops. And these hotels are also only a 5 minute walk to the Pacific Center Mall:
