What to Expect When Driving on Vancouver Island

Driving around Vancouver Island is pretty much hassle-free. The general rule is, the farther north you go, the fewer cars you’ll find on the road. The only spots to look out for are Highway 17 north of Victoria during rush hour, and any highways at higher elevation during winter storms.

It's also worth pointing out that the Trans-Canada No. 1 Highway North of Victoria can get icy in winter conditions, mostly from late November to April.

We Hope This Vancouver Island Map Helps You Plan a Great Trip to British Columbia!
