Recently, we spent 2 nights at a spa getaway on Saltspring Island (Salt Springs Spa Resort, listed below). This Gulf Island spa is a relaxing, secluded getaway, and they offered some discount spa packages.

No phones, no TV’s, no loud parties – it was heaven. I remember the serenity, especially at night – fireplace crackling in our A-Frame cottage, and no sounds outside except the gentle tide and the crickets in the distance. Ahhhhh…..

Top Vancouver Island Spa Resorts

Tigh-Na-Mara Resort – Parksville, B.C. Award-winning resort lodge and spa. Recently featured on LIVE with Regis and Kelly! Very romantic log cottages with a fireplace in every unit. All kinds of golf, hiking, kayaking and biking nearby. Packages for romantic getaways and Vancouver Island weddings.

Pacific Shores Resort and Spa – Nanoose Bay, B.C. (approx 30 km north of Nanaimo, B.C.) Set in landscaped organic gardens with over 1000 varieties of Pacific Northwest flora. Outdoor thermal pools, kayaking, wine & cheese evenings. Illuminated oceanside walk for a romantic evening stroll by the Pacific.

Salt Springs Spa Resort – located on Salt Spring Island (Gulf Islands). Where Maureen and I booked our 2 night spa getaway. Peaceful, relaxing, with a full day spa service. The ensuite mineral-water jet tub would have to rate as one of the most relaxing soaks on the continent! Check for frequent promotions on 2 night getaways.


Kingfisher Oceanside Resort & Spa - A little further north in the Comox Valley. Beachfront suites, and the first full service oceanfront spa in Canada! In the summer, you can even book a massage right on the beach! Gourmet West Coast cuisine featured nightly in the dining room which is one of the most popular on Vancouver Island.

Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa – If you’re looking for a Victoria, BC spa resort, it might be worth the short ½ hr drive north to the Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa. This smaller, luxury resort houses a full day spa, and the rooms all have body massage showers, DVD entertainment and gourmet 3 course breakfasts. Superb location – well “hidden”, but just a short drive to Victoria, world famous Butchart Gardens, and ferries to Vancouver and Washington State.
