  • Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview- Hot tub perfection is on display here at this recently renovated Niagara Falls Marriott hotel. We booked 2 nights in one of their King Whirlpool Superior Falls View Rooms, and we have rarely seen better views of the falls than we did from this room (check out our video above). Not all rooms are created equal here though, so one tip we can pass on when checking in is to request one above the 9th floor for the best views. What Sets This Hotel Apart: That’s easy - a location that is the envy of just about every other hotel in Niagara Falls. Pros: Wine & cheese at a window table in the Lobby Lounge. Cons: Parking is expensive at CAD $59/day. ERV Rating*: 84% - Very Good.   • Sterling Inn & Spa - This one’s easy: If you’re OK staying in a hotel without a view of the Falls, we highly recommend you stay here. IMHO, when it comes to value, the Sterling Inn is the best hot tub suite hotel in Niagara Falls. Rooms are up-to-date and super clean, with the jetted tubs spacious and working great. Being away from Clifton Hill, you’ll enjoy a bit more peace and quiet while still being close enough to everything. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Continental breakfast brought to your door that you can enjoy in bed every morning of your stay. Pros: Room quality, decor, and extras like gas fireplace and rain showers give the Sterling more of a romantic accent than many other properties nearby. Cons: Parking is not free, but it is right at the hotel for a reasonable CAD$18/night. ERV Rating*: 90% - Excellent.   • Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls - Not to be confused with the Marriott Fallsview listed above (but easy to get them mixed up). Views of the Falls here are more astounding the higher up you go, and rooms generally exude an elevated level of fit, finish and luxury in comparison to most other high rise accommodation nearby. The Whirlpool tubs in the bathroom vary in size a bit depending on room choice, and many even offer waterfall views through the bedroom windows. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Proudly advertised as the “closest hotel to the Falls”. Pros: Upper floor rooms are probably the best hotel suites you can find to view the nightly light show at the Falls. Cons: Bountiful buffet breakfast is great but pricy (unless you purchase it in a room package or you have Marriott Bonvoy status.) ERV Rating*: 82% - Very Good. Whirlpool Tub Size: 1-2 Persons. √ERV Clean Score: C. (6755 Fallsview Blvd, Niagara Falls ON 905-374-1077) Romantic Dining & Attractions Nearby: Because this Marriott is the southernmost Fallsview hotel in the area, most restaurants are a walk north of here.   • Sheraton Fallsview Hotel - Extensively renovated just a few years ago, the Sheraton Fallsview has the essentials for a great Falls hotel: fantastic location, rooms with astounding views (particularly the US side), an onsite romantic restaurant, and Whirlpool tubs in upgraded master baths. A few niggling problems and oversights however tend to dampen the whole experience (high priced drinks, slow elevators, room features not working/needing maintenance, etc). Bit of a shame considering the potential here. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Even though they’re the more limited French/Juliette-style, the in-room private balconies in the Sheraton are unique in Niagara Falls, and it’s surprisingly nice to be able to sense the roar and the mist from inside. Pros: Nice breakfast buffet a welcome relief from the usual crowded and humdrum ones. Cons: CAD$39/daily parking fee, no pets allowed, and the pool/waterslide combo may not provide the relaxation you’d like. ERV Rating*: 80% - Good.   • Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview - Most Hilton’s this close to a major attraction like the Falls will charge you an arm and a leg for a night’s stay, but intense competition has kept the rates here at this double-towered resort somewhat reasonable, except for parking (more on that in a minute). Rooms unfortunately need some attention, in particular the bathrooms. The most romantic of the bunch (aside from the 50th floor Penthouse Suite) is no doubt the King Studio with Whirlpool Tub and excellent views. What Sets This Hotel Apart: This is the highest hotel not only in Niagara Falls but in all of Canada! And, it's attached by indoor walkway to the shops and dining at Fallsview Casino. Pros: Rooms above the 35th floor have awesome views of both the Canadian and US Falls, and there’s a Starbucks in the lobby. Cons: On-site self-parking is a steep CAD$65-$80/night (weekday/weekend) and can get tight on weekends - there’s an off-site option for CAD$35-$50/night. ERV Rating*: 72% - Good. Whirlpool Tub Size: 2 Persons. √ERV Clean Score: D. (6361 Fallsview Blvd, Niagara Falls ON 888-370-0700) Romantic Dining & Attractions Nearby: If you plan on staying here for a honeymoon or anniversary, dining at the hotel’s own award-winning Watermark Fallsview Dining on floor 33 will be memorable. Even non-window tables have terrific views. But be prepared to pay for it...Beautiful Queen Victoria Park is less than 15 minutes by foot away and is a must-see, especially during blooming season (May to September).   • Embassy Suites Niagara Falls Fallsview - Another hot tub suite hotel with some mighty impressive views of the Falls (see the accompanying photos for a view from a suite on the 40th floor). Most booking sites will overwhelm you with a bewildering choice of rooms here, so just keep scrolling and stop when you see the word “Whirlpool”, and then choose between a King or 2 Queen beds, and your view. The master bathroom spa tubs are reasonably large and deep, and open to the rest of the room via shutter-type windows. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Complimentary nightly wine & cheese reception is a nice touch. Pros: a free hot buffet breakfast every morning adds value to your stay here...Infinity pool on the 9th floor has a nice view of the American Falls. Cons: Very s-l-o-w elevators with unusually long wait times are the single biggest downside here. On-site self-parking is a very pricy CAD$70/night, valet CAD$100, or CAD$35 for an off-site option with free shuttle service. ERV Rating*: 72% - Good. Whirlpool Tub Size: 2 Persons. √ERV Clean Score: C. (6700 Fallsview Blvd, Niagara Falls ON 905-356-3600). Romantic Dining & Attractions Nearby: Because of the elevator situation, one possible way to lessen the pain a bit is an earlier or later than usual dinner at the Sky Fallsview Steakhouse, located next door at the Tower Hotel.   • Holiday Inn Niagara Falls By the Falls - Basically, we like everything we see here at this Holiday Inn, except for the fact that availability of their hot tub rooms can be very hard to find during high and even shoulder season. Although the large, beautiful King Jetted Tub Rooms are without any sight lines to the water, they are outfitted with beautiful bedding and flooring, and certainly include some of the most luxurious 2-person spa tubs we’ve seen in the area. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Coco’s Steakhouse (onsite) serving wood-fired pizza on their very attractive outdoor patio, as well as both indoor and outdoor pools. Pros: Free parking, which is a pretty big deal for a hotel this close to the Falls. Cons: Easy downhill walk to the Falls but a workout walking uphill back to the hotel. ERV Rating*: 78% - Good. Whirlpool Tub Size: 2 Persons. √ERV Clean Score: B. (5339 Murray St, Niagara Falls ON 905-356-1333) Romantic Dining & Attractions Nearby: Easily make up for the viewless room in 5 minutes by heading down, around the corner, and then up the Skyline Tower.   • The Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls - Unfortunately, it seems that the Falls may not be all that this independent property on Fallsview Boulevard overlooks. The condition of the rooms (particularly the bathrooms) seems to inspire some less than positive vibes, which is a shame considering they may actually enjoy one of the very best locations of all “Fallsview” hotels. If you decide to judge for yourself and book into one of their King rooms with JACUZZI® Tubs, keep in mind that the cheaper “River View” Rooms are below the 8th floor and only offer obstructed view of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Floor to ceiling windows reveal an amazing vantage of the thundering falls just a few hundred meters away. Pros: The smiling front desk staff are one redeeming factor. Cons: Outdoor self-parking is CAD$45/day, about average for this area of town. "Courtyard" Rooms are lower-tier units attached to the bottom of the tower with no falls views. ERV Rating*: 66% - Fair.   • Courtyard Niagara Falls - The next best thing to a brand new hotel is a freshly renovated one, just like this Marriott Courtyard. If you’re interested in one of their hot tub suites, look for the Spa King with Whirlpool Tub when you book. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Choice of both indoor and outdoor pools (in season) so you can pick which one is quieter. Pros: One of the cleanest hotels in the area. Fairly quiet despite being in a location so close to many attractions, and the Starbucks just across the parking lot comes in very handy. Cons: There’s a Hooters right next door, just so you know. ERV Rating*: 84% - Very Good.   • Niagara Fallsview Hotel - Formerly the Radisson Fallsview, and another case of a high-rise hotel perched near the Falls that is generally satisfactory, but could be so much more if they would just give it a much-needed renovation. Selected King Rooms with in-room hot tubs have 2-person JACUZZI® Tubs positioned closer to the windows than any of the competition. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Want a view of the Falls...from inside your spa tub? As far as we know, this is the only hotel in Niagara Falls that offers that perk. Pros: On-site parking at $45/night is the cheapest of among nearby high-rise Fallsview hotels. Cons: Views from the rooms are limited to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls only, and depending on the room, partially obstructed by nearby hotels. ERV Rating*: 78% - Good. Whirlpool Tub Size: 2 Persons. √ERV Clean Score: B. (5950 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls ON 905-358-3083) Romantic Dining & Attractions Nearby: There's a Turtle Jack's restaurant onsite (the ribs are terrific)...the Falls Incline Railway is 5 minutes by foot away. So if you can score one of their updated and refreshed 1 Bedroom Queen Suites with 2-Person Hot Tub, you’re getting considerable bang for your buck this close to the Falls. What Sets This Hotel Apart: You can save even more considering you can walk to almost everything, eliminating the need for a car. Pros: A decent jetted tub suite in Niagara Falls for under CAD $120/USD $88 (even in off-season) is amazing! Some rooms on the highest floors (7th & 8th) have limited views of Canadian Falls. Cons: Older reviews for this property tend to be of pre-reno rooms and therefore much more negative. ERV Rating*: Very difficult to say: new rooms easily get a 70%+, while any older units are probably somewhere in the 50-60% range.   • Country Inn & Suites Niagara Falls - Within just a few minutes walking distance to the Falls, this Country Inn’s King Suites with In-Room Whirlpool Spa Bath are reasonably spacious and some of the cheapest (and still decent) spa tub suites in the entire Niagara Falls area. And while the rooms may not offer the latest in design and decor, the staff seem to work extra hard keeping them clean and presentable. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Looks are deceiving: although only 7 stories high and tucked away behind Victoria Ave, the hotel’s top floor rooms facing east have views of the city and the falls! Pros: Lots of hot breakfast choices each morning, and Indian & Jamaican restaurants within walking distance. Cons: At first glance it looks like a free lot, but unfortunately parking is $15/day. Book one of their spartan but clean Queen Jetted Tub rooms, realize fully what’s in store (and what isn’t), and enjoy the savings. There’s something to be said too for the small motel simplicity here: Turn in from the street and you’re parked (for free!) in 20 seconds. Got a problem, just call the manager. Want to go for a swim? Walk 50 feet and you’re at the pool. What Sets This Hotel Apart: Their “Red Heart Whirlpool” rooms have Jetted tubs (you guessed it - heart shaped!) and an electric fireplace. Pros: Clean, functional Whirlpool tubs for less than $100 night! Cons: No microwaves in the rooms, and get ready to carry luggage upstairs if you're given a 2nd floor room. Fortunately though, the in-room jetted spa tubs here are defying their age and get high marks. But with a number of other shortcomings related to the rooms, bedding and general comfort, for this price bracket, we’d probably opt for the Comfort Inn Fallsview or Quality Hotel Fallsview Cascade instead (both reviewed on this page). The results are mostly positive: location is outstanding and the staff generally smiling and accommodating. Rooms are showing their age, but the Whirlpool tubs are very generous in their size and the jets seem to perform without issue. What Sets This Hotel Apart: One of just a handful of establishments in the area allowing you to park for free. Pros: The free breakfast will save you even more money, although it’s nothing to write home about. Cons: Thin walls tend to let in a variety of noises. ERV Rating*: 70% - Good. The Motel’s own website doesn’t inspire much confidence at all, but plenty of tub travellers coming to the Falls swear by this motor inn and it’s clean, unpretentious (but hardwood floored!) rooms with jetted tubs. If that sounds like something you’re open to, go for it. But play it safe online and book your stay here through Booking.com or Hotels.com. What Sets This Hotel Apart: A complete throw-back to 70’s & 80’s-style road side motels. Pros: We tried booking their cheapest hot tub suite in the off season, and the price was a shockingly low $USD62! (Plus taxes) Cons: At this price point, you can bet families are flocking here.
